About Group Therapy

Many of our clients find it helpful to participate in both group therapy and individual psychotherapy; participating in both types of therapy often enhances our clients’ ability to make valuable and lasting changes.  At Ensō we offer several group therapy options which can be utilized in addition to individual therapy, or it can be a standalone option. Either way, group therapy may be an ideal choice for addressing your concerns and making positive changes in your life.  To learn more, or to join one of our groups, please contact us at 913-220-2450, or e-mail us at [email protected].

Benefits of Group Therapy

Group therapy is an effective way to receive support, benefit from alternative perspectives, gain insight, and experience positive social interaction–all while facilitated by one of our experienced clinical professionals. Our facilitators provide resources and help to develop coping skills, and assist clients to identify and achieve individual goals at and beyond the therapeutic group session. Although you may choose to only participate in group therapy, it is highly recommended that each member also have a individual therapist; additional support and applying the skills outside the group setting is vital for long-term success. Clients are encouraged to discuss topics addressed in group with their individual therapist for deeper individualized exploration and mastery of the skills developed in the group session.

What to Expect

Our group therapy facilitators are experienced therapists who are passionate about providing an evidence-based approach in a safe and supportive environment.  Clients feel comfortable while learning together strategies for navigating life’s challenges.  Our expert guidance will help you make the most of your group therapy experience.

Each group session concludes with positive closure.  “Homework” is not required; however, we encourage you to apply and practice the skills developed between sessions in order to achieve optimal results.

There is no failure in therapy; all of us are a work in progress, and each person approaches the process of change differently.  If you have challenges with follow-though, the therapist will assist you to break through your personal barriers and achieve success.

Joining a Group

All of our groups are an open format, meaning that new members can join at any time.  We recommend that clients attend at least 6 sessions in order to realize the benefits of group therapy; often times, clients choose to attend many more sessions in order to continue to develop the skills that they learn and practice in session. Our rate for group therapy is $40 per session; we are happy to file claims with your health insurer on your behalf if group therapy is covered by your plan. If you are interested in joining any of our groups, or have additional questions, please contact us at 913-220-2450, reach out to us via e-mail to [email protected], or discuss group therapy with your therapist.
